Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Getting Started:
Application and Integration Services
OpenEdge Adapter for SonicMQ
Application programmers can access Java Message Service (JMS) messaging from the Progress 4GL with the OpenEdge Adapter for SonicMQ, allowing the 4GL application to exchange messages with applications written in any other languages that also use SonicMQ. You can write 4GL applications that access the OpenEdge Adapter for SonicMQ through a 4GL-JMS API that works the same on all platforms and in all configurations (GUI, character, WebClient, AppServer, WebSpeed, and batch).
Note: JMS is a Java standard for inter-application messaging. SonicMQ implements an extension to this standard with significant enhancements. For more information, see the SonicMQ documentation available from Sonic Software at http://www.sonicsoftware.com/index.ssp.
